MOSCOW - Two people were transported to Gritman Medical Center after a two-car crash late Tuesday morning in Moscow.

Moscow Police said 20-year-old Roni Zimmerman of Richland was headed west in an Oldsmobile on the Moscow-Pullman Road around 11:25 a.m.

64-year-old Sally Bowey of Bovill was headed east in a Buick and attempted to turn on to War Bonnet Drive. She was t-boned by Zimmerman's car. Zimmerman's airbag deployed, injuring her. She was transported to Gritman.

Candy Bishop of Clarkston witnessed the crash and offered aid to Zimmerman.

"I stopped and got out because the gal, the airbag came out and she couldn't breathe," said Zimmerman. "So I stopped to get her out of the car and walked her over here and let her sit on the grass before the paramedics got here. They took her to the hospital. They said she might have some neck injuries. The airbag hit her pretty hard. But she was wearing a seat belt."

Bowey's passenger, 66-year-old Moneta Westberg of Pullman, was trapped inside the Buick. Firefighters had to extricate her.

She was also transported to Gritman where she was treated and released. Police said Bowey was cited for failure to yield.
