SPALDING - A one car collision Saturday night resulted in a child being ejected from a pickup near the Spalding Bridge on U.S. 95.

Idaho State Police said the icy conditions contributed to the crash.

"Our wet roads turned to ice, not just here in the Spalding area, but all throughout the region,” said Sergeant Vernon Grotjohn during an interview at the scene. “About 8:00 p.m., the vehicle was southbound and it lost control coming off the Spalding bridge and slid into the ditch on the south side of the road. There were four people in the car and one child was ejected and injured."

According to ISP the vehicle was driven by 43-year-old Katherine Scabbyrobe of Lapwai.

No other information about the crash or the condition of the child was available as of Tuesday.
