CLARKSTON - A dangerous Clarkston intersection is being redesigned.

The intersection is 13th Street and Peaslee in the Heights. Asotin County Public Works director Joel Ristau said the intersection has been scene of a number of accidents in recent years, attributed to a high traffic count making left hand turns.

Much of the confusion may come from the fact that cars traveling on Peaslee must stop, but traffic on 13th doesn't. The county is looking into a redesign and this week hired a consulting firm for the project.

Ristau said they will look into alternatives including putting in a street light, curbs and even a roundabout.

The project is being funded by the Washington Department of Transportation for $400,000.
