LEWISTON - The City of Lewiston and Nez Perce County seem to agree on the terms of an EMS contract, again.

Monday County Commissioners inked a three-year contract, with an automatic renewal for three more years. This came after confusion in the previous draft.

Commissioners had signed a contract for five years, but the council approved the contract with the understanding that it was for two. Deputy Prosecutor Nance Ceccarelli said the city is accepting a counter-offer of three years, and all that's left is putting pen to paper.

"We will sign our contract hopefully, and send it back to the city for their signatures," said Ceccarelli. "But we're all on the same page. Three years, followed by a three-year extension."

Commissioners signed the contract Monday. The three-year term will start on January 1, 2010.
