Cocaine bust at McCall golf resort

MCCALL - Police raided the White Tail Golf Resort in McCall early Monday morning, arresting 13 people and seizing over a half pound of cocaine.
According to the Valley County Sheriff's Office the bust happened at around 5 a.m. Members of the Valley Interagency Controlled Substance Enforcement (V.I.C.S.E.) team consisting of members of the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, McCall Police Department, Cascade Police Department and the Valley County Prosecutors Office conducted search warrants on a house, dormitory and other buildings owned and operated by the resort. The V.I.C.S.E. team was assisted by members of the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Boise County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Department of Fish and Game and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. The cocaine's estimated street value is approximately $21,700. Police say they also confiscated weighing and packaging materials. The majority of the illegal drugs were seized from a house at 510 Boydstun Street in McCall. The Sheriff's Office said the early morning raid was the conclusion to a year and half long investigation by members of the V.I.C.S.E. team into the sale and distribution of cocaine in the McCall area. Thirteen employees were arrested on drug-related charges stemming from the search warrants. Two other employees were arrested on non-related charges. Arrested were: Jose Guadalupe Gonzalez Valadez, age 24, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance cocaine, one count trafficking of cocaine, and one count felony injury to child. Alexandro V. Gonzalez, age 32, one count felony injury to child, one count frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold. Romeo Cruz Fernandez, age 23, one count possession of cocaine. Janeth Zepeda Castillo, age 32, one count felony injury to child and one count frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold. The others were charged with misdemeanor frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold or unrelated charges. Many of the individuals arrested have had immigration holds placed on them by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. |
