ROSALIA – A 22-year-old woman was killed and two people injured in a crash on U.S. 195 three miles north of Rosalia Friday afternoon just before 1.

The Washington State Patrol says Kasey N. Skaggs of Renton was southbound in a 2006 Chevy Cobalt when she attempted to pass three vehicles. She lost control when trying to re-enter her lane and slid broadside in the northbound lane.

Her car was then struck by a 2004 Chevy Cavalier driven by David M. Swanson, 47, of Chewelah.

Skaggs was deceased at the scene. Swanson was transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. His passenger, Bonnie Lynn Swanson, 46, also of Chewelah, was transported by MedStar to Sacred Heart.
