"We received notification on Friday of those two cases," said Community Health Director Candi Barton. "Both cases are recovering at home, neither have required hospitalization."
One case involves a 22-year-old male, the other a Lapwai Elementary School student. The school has not been closed but Community Health Barton said they are working with the Lapwai School District as well as Asotin County to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus.
"The influenza virus does not recognized our state boundaries, so it is very important when we get that first case in the valley that we coordinate on both sides of the river to make sure everyone is informed," said Barton.
And Public Health is expecting more cases in the coming weeks.
"Right now in the state, including our cases we have 17 positive cases and the state has tested 466 samples that have been negative," said Barton.
Asotin County does not have any confirmed Swine Flu cases.
