Two injured in T-bone crash near Cottonwood

COTTONWOOD – A Grangeville man is in serious condition following a two-vehicle crash late Tuesday afternoon near Cottonwood.

Idaho State Police says Norman A. Butler, 60, of Grangeville, pulled out into U.S. 95 in a 1989 Subaru. The car was struck by a 2001 Ford pickup driven by Todd W. Deckard, 45, of Spokane Valley. ISP said Decker attempted to stop, but ended up T-boning the Subaru.

Decker and his passenger were not injured.

Butler and his passenger, Caleb L. Butler, 5, of Cottonwood, were injured and transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. The boy was treated and released. Norman Butler was listed in serious condition Wednesday morning.

ISP says neither Butler nor the boy was wearing a seat belt and the boy was not in a carseat as required by law.

The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. at mile post 254.
