OROFINO - An Orofino woman was in Intensive Care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Monday after she was injured in a crash Saturday morning at around 6:30 a.m. on U.S. 12 near Peck.

According to Idaho State Police, Timothy Neumayer, 60, of Orofino was traveling eastbound in a Toyota Camry when it struck a basketball size rock in the road with its right front tire, causing Neumayer to lose control and cross into the westbound lane.

His car collided with a Geo Metro driven by Carrie Brooks, 44, also of Orofino. Rescue personnel had to extricate Brooks from her car.

She was initially transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital, then transferred to St. Joseph Regional and Deaconess Medical Center. On Monday afternoon she was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she was in the Intensive Care Unit, according to a Harborview spokesperson.

ISP said she was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
