MOSCOW - Two men were injured and a building was damaged in downtown Moscow early Wednesday morning when a car struck a chip truck.

According to Moscow Assistant Police Chief David Duke, it happened at around 2 a.m. Duke said 30-year-old Jonathon O’Day of Spokane was eastbound on Third Street when he failed to stop at a red flashing light at Jackson. He struck a southbound 2006 chip truck belonging to Jack Buell Trucking, driven by 33-year-old Jason Dennler of Clarkston.

Duke said the accident caused the semi to strike a tree and building on South Jackson.

Both men were transported to Gritman Medical Center, O’Day with head injuries and Dennler with abrasions and scrapes.

Duke said the road was closed until 9 a.m. The building suffered cosmetic damage to the outside.

O’Day was cited for inattentive driving and no insurance.
