LEWISTON - A crash Tuesday afternoon in Lewiston damaged a power pole.

It happened at about 4:00 p.m in the 1500 block of 29th Street. Police said the driver of a car lost control and hit the pole.

The driver was not injured but the pole wasn't so lucky, shattering about halfway up.

Fire crews said power was not affected. Avista responded to the scene to replace the pole.

Emergency personnel blocked off traffic in the area in case power lines posed a hazard.
