Votemobile still on the road
The Votemobile has been getting a lot of mileage out of getting people registered for the election. By Stephanie Smith
LEWISTON - The countdown to the election is on and if you haven't registered to vote, now's the time.
The Idaho deadline for registering is October 10th or in-person at the polls. While in Washington, Saturday is the deadline. In Nez Perce County Robynhawk Wilson is on a mission to register as many people as possible through the Vote-Mobile project. "I started out in early August," said Wilson. "What I've started is a one person community service project that actually I go here and there and register people to vote." Wilson said she has registered about 300 voters and hopes to have 500 by next Friday's deadline. Friday she signed up people at the Lewiston Albertsons. "It makes me feel really good and it also makes me feel like I am still socially conscious in terms of helping people get registered to vote," said Wilson. "Sometimes it's not easy to get down to the courthouse and do it." Wilson said most people have had very positive reactions to her efforts and her own vote-mobile. "This is a historic election and I think that everybody who can vote should." The times and locations of upcoming voter sign-ups in Lewiston are Saturday at Erb Hardware from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Rosauers on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Or agian at Erb's on Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It only takes a few minutes to fill out the paperwork. |
