Two months out
The new Nez Perce County Jail takes shape. By Matt Loveless
LEWISTON - Just a few more months.
Nez Perce County is anxiously awaiting the delivery of keys to the new jail and sheriff's office, as crews continue working on some of the final stages of the project. County Commission Chair Ron Wittman said that curbing will be done by Friday and Poe Asphalt will be in to finish sidewalks and driveways in the next couple weeks. Inside the facility, workers are laying down carpet and tile, and putting in ceiling tiles. Wittman said Swank Enterprises out of Kalispell, Montana is still on schedule and within budget. That means the county will likely move inmates into the jail by mid-January. Wittman said they are planning a soft opening in December or early January, shortly after they move in to the building. |
