Multiple arrests in Orofino drug investigation

OROFINO - A four-month investigation has led to numerous arrests on drug charges in Orofino.

According to the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office, the investigation was into the sale and possession of marijuana, prescription drugs, and a synthetic material sold as a controlled substance.

The arrests took place Thursday afternoon. Nine arrest warrants and three search warrants were executed.

Among those arrested were 58-year-old James Barnett, 21-year-old Jennifer Benson, 28-year-old John Butler, 20-year old-Cody Calaprice, 23-year-old Lisa Radie, 58-year- old Gunnar Jenson Sr., 46-year-old Molly Jensen and 24-year old Tad Pollick, all of Orofino. Also arrested was 45-year-old Steve Blanchard of Weippe.

Police said all the arrests were made without incident.

Three search warrants were executed at Pollick, Calaprice and Radie, and Barnett's residences. During the searches police said they recovered prescription medications, marijuana and paraphernalia, and a jar containing what is believed to be the synthetic material which was sold as a controlled substance. The material was thought to be an anesthetic used by Idaho State Fish and Game biologists to anesthetize fish.

The Clearwater County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Orofino Police Department in making the arrests.
