Clarkston man in hospital following ATV accident

PIERCE, ID - A Clarkston man was injured Saturday in an ATV accident east of Pierce.

The Clearwater County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a report of the accident on a Potlatch road near the Shanghai Divide, approximately 10 miles east of Pierce.

Mancil Wilson, 32, was travelling on the road and swerved to miss a deer. The ATV rolled over causing unknown injuries to Wilson.

Wilson was transported by Weippe Ambulance to Shanghai Divide and then transferred to the Back Country Medics helicopter of Orofino and flown to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.

He was listed in fair condition Monday afternoon.
