WSU CUB offically opens
Crowd visits CUB By Matt Loveless
PULLMAN - It was two long years for Cougars, dodging construction fences, finding their way around campus and though students have been trickling in and out for about a month now, we can call the Compton Union Building at WSU officially open.
A number of university and city officials joined current and former student body presidents to cut the cake and the ribbon on WSU's biggest building. "That's an important time in the life of the university," said WSU President Elson Floyd. "The union really does serve as the living room, if you will, for the life of our students. So, this is a really special day in our growth and development as an institution." The amenities include a brand new food court. A new and improved Bookie. Video games in the lobby, but second year president Elson Floyd said above all, it's a place to go. "We have two classes of students who have never been in the CUB before," said Floyd. "They're enjoying it. We have a blend between the old and the new, and so it's just a great facility that everyone is just raving about." |
