LEWISTON - A "lucky-to-be-alive" crash on Waha Road.

It happened at about 5:30 p.m on Thursday. Initial investigation showed an unidentified woman was northbound on Waha, when Deputy Jerry Florence said she came around the corner too fast.

"There was a female driver and two young children in the vehicle," said N.P. Co. Sheriff's Deputy Jerry Florence. "All three were ejected out into the field. The lady was dropped into the ditch, and the children had minor injuries. The kids were very lucky."

Very lucky indeed. The kids sat in their dad's car while he waited for a tow truck to get the crippled car out of the field. Florence said the woman complained of severe back pain when medics arrived. No information was available as to her condition Friday. Florence said the investigation is continuing, and citations may be pending.
