CLARKSTON - Clarkston Police got a raise Monday night.

The Clarkston City Council approved a deal with the Police Guild that will give officers a four percent raise in 2008. The contract will run for four years with pay increases each year and the possibility of a fitness incentive.

The council also agreed to send a letter to Clearwater Paper, a division of Potlatch, welcoming them to build headquarters in Clarkston.

And the council voted to write a letter of support for the Port's grant application for a transient boat dock. Port officials hope this dock will bring more people into the area
