LEWISTON - Prosecutors dropped a felony bribery charge against a Lewiston man as part of a plea agreement.

According to the Nez Perce County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, 23-year-old Scott M. Hayward was facing a charge of bribery of municipal or county officers in connection with a DUI arrest in May.

The prosecutor's office says the bribery charge was formally dropped last week in exchange for Hayward's plea of guilty to excessive DUI.

According to court records, Hayward was sentenced on that charge July 15. He was ordered to jail for 10 days with work release, fined $1,000 with $300 of that suspended, had his license suspended for one year and was placed on supervised probation for two years.
