LEWISTON - A crash in Lewiston Monday afternoon sent a woman to the hospital.

It happened about 1:30 p.m. near the confluence on the Levee Bypass Road.

A Ford Ranger was headed east when police say a bee apparently flew in the window and distracted the driver, who drifted into the oncoming lane.

The vehicle collided with another one that was headed west. The female driver of that car was transported to Tri-State Memorial Hospital.

The accident shut down a couple blocks of the street while the accident was investigated. Lewiston Police said the driver of the Ranger will be cited for driving left of center.

No names were available as of early Monday night.
