MOSCOW - The search for a Moscow man sought as possible suspect in an deadly arson fire continues to take some unusual twists.

There were some developments over the weekend, as the Latah County Sheriff's Office continues to attempt to locate a fatal fire suspect.

56-year-old Dallas Strunk of Moscow is wanted for questioning regarding the Harvard fire that claimed the life of his 88-year-old mother. Sheriff Wayne Rausch said Monday that Strunk's 1987 Volvo was recovered on Freezeout Ridge in Shoshone County and that a fire had destroyed it.

Rausch said deputies found no other evidence of the suspect at the scene. The car was transported to Benewah County where a further forensic search will be conducted.

Rausch said several weekend tips led officers to Elk River, but the person contacted, while similar in appearance, was not Strunk.

Strunk is approximately 6'1, 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. If you have any information, you can call the Sheriff's Office at 208-882-2216 or contact your local police.

Strunk has a history of arson, having been arrested for the crime in 2005.
