PECK - An early morning fire destroyed a home in Peck over the weekend. According to the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office, deputies and personnel from Big Canyon Fire responded to the blaze at 320 North Marion Street at around 12:42 a.m. Saturday morning.
They found the house fully engulfed in flames when they arrived and it ended up being a total loss.
According to Peck resident Bob Faucett, the two-story home was over 100 years old and was a landmark in Peck. Faucett said there was some discussion that fireworks may have been invovled in the fire.
Faucett said it appeared the family who lived in the home was there when the fire broke out and was able to escape without injury. He said a dog may have perished in the fire. The investigation continues.
