LEWISTON - It will now be a nicer launch into Waha Lake.
Idaho Fish and Game just finished a facelift at the lake's boat ramp, just one of 300 boating access sites Fish and Game manages. Regional Habitat Manager Jerome Hansen says it's part of a 5-year plan, looking at fixing a number of the state's boating and fishing access sites. "Our engineering crew installed new docks, new gangway, new ADA accessible sidewalks down to the docks,” said Hansen. “And a new restroom, new gravel. This is going to create a much nicer area here for anglers that come to Waha Lake" Hansen said outdoor enthusiasts have already paid for the project. "When people purchase a fishing license, some of that money comes back to these kind of projects when they go out to buy fishing tackle or fishing equipment, boating supplies. That money is then utilized for these kind of projects." Hansen said Fish and Game's next big project will include improvement at Soldier's Meadow. |
