O'Connor will not get job back
By Matt Loveless
LEWISTON - A former Lewiston city clerk will not get her job back.
A city appeals board voted to uphold the termination of 46-year-old Rebecca L. O'Connor. O'Connor was fired from her position with the City of Lewiston in May. She was accused of altering the minutes of an October Lewiston City Council meeting and adding names to the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board roster. Late last month, Nez Perce County Magistrate Judge Kent Merica dismissed two counts of Falsifying, Mutilating, or Concealing Public Records or Written Instruments against O'Connor, saying it wasn't clear enough as to which minutes were the "official" minutes. Also last month, O'Connor filed to appeal her termination. City Manager Jay Krauss said a committee made up of a city councilor, an employee appointed by O'Connor, and a human resource professional upheld the decision. Krauss would not comment further on the decision. |
