Seniors celebrate homes away from home
Musicians entertain guests in Asotin Tuesday. By Stephanie Smith
ASOTIN - It's one of life's most difficult decisions: When do you put a loved one into a nursing home?
On Tuesday local care centers celebrated National Nursing Home Week with some fun in Asotin. "We thought it would be fun to all get together and listen to some good music and Asotin Park is a beautiful place, except it's a little bit chilly today," said Dawn Robins, Clarkston Care Center Activities Director. "We bundled everybody in blankets and we're just going to have a good time anyway." The theme of the event was Love is Ageless. "Nursing homes, these days, are filled with caring people that care about our elderly," said Robins. "I think it's a good time to show how much we do care about our elderly." Lewiston Rehabilitation, Orchards Rehabilitation and Care along with Garfield County and others came out to celebrate with music from some old time fiddlers. |
