Lewiston Police arrest murder suspect
LEWISTON - Lewiston Police Friday night arrested a suspect wanted on multiple counts of murder in Louisiana.
Police, in a news release issued Friday night, said they received information from Idaho State Police, who had received their information from the FBI, that a subject wanted for murder was arriving in Lewiston and that it was believed the individual was traveling in a semi. Police said they located the semi as it drove into a residential neighborhood and conducted a “high risk stop” in the 500 block of 6th Avenue. The passenger was detained and later identified as 34-year-old Robert L McCoy, who is wanted for three counts of murder in Bossier City, Louisiana. Police recovered a 38-caliber pistol from behind the passenger’s seat of the cab. They said the driver of the semi was cooperative and is not facing charges. McCoy was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail on three murder warrants and may face an additional charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. |
