LEWISTON - Whether it's outboard, inboard or you just want to dream, the boat show in Lewiston has boats of all shapes and sizes.

Guy Johnson, of Guy's Outdoor Equipment talked about some of the latest features

"The coolest thing out is the new center console...those are getting very popular in the Valley,” he said. “They get a lot of options as far as running the river, it gives you good visibility. That's probably the coolest thing that we've got. Then there's the new off-shore boat, they are a deeper more roomy boat and those are just coming about and that's new."

Johnson said there are even new fashion trends for living the life aquatic.

"Last year, yellow was kind of a hot color. We are still doing some yellow boats now. But I haven't seen what the new color is yet, what's going to be most requested."

Johnson said boating and living in the Valley go hand in hand.

"Number one is I think we've got 5 or 6 major boat manufacturers here in the Valley, so it draws a lot of people from outside of the arena,” Johnson said. “And just our river system, we've got some of the best whitewater and most accessible whitewater in the country, the scenery is phenomenal. The tour boats do a great job of promoting tourism, so it is just a destination point for this type of boating."

The boat show features three dealerships with several manufacturers and it runs through Sunday at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds Building.
