LEWISTON – A Wednesday evening accident on Thain sent people to the hospital.

The crash happened at the corner of Grelle Avenue and Thain at about 7:20 p.m

"It appears that the van pulled out of the A-1 market and was sideswiped, T-boned by a GMC Envoy," said Lewiston Police Officer Terry Koeper. “Apparently a pickup was pulling into the market and the Envoy was also northbound on Thain. The van pulled out just thinking it was only the pickup. But, the Envoy was in the inside lane and unseeable through the pickup."

The driver of the van, 65-year-old Nevada Tennant of Lewiston, and one of her passengers, an 8-year-old boy from Cottonwood, were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical center where they were treated and released.

The driver of the GMC, 37-year-old Dodie Chapman, was also treated and released at St. Joe's after the accident.

Police said a possible failure to yield citation is pending.
