CLARKSTON - Hundreds of people lined up and up to a thousand people were fed.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Second Harvest held another free food distribution Thursday in downtown Clarkston, despite some weather challenges.

"Tony Bellatti drove all the way down from Spokane this morning with the truck,” said Judi Wutzke, Records Coordinator for Asotin-Garfield Thrivent. Couldn't get down from Pullman so he went over to Moscow and came down."

This is the group's fifth distribution and they plan to do two more before the end of the year.

"Everyone is very appreciative of whatever they get, said Wutzke. “And I love it cause there is a lot of fresh produce usually."

People filled up bags with food based on how many people are in their family.

"We always have some kind of bread,” Wutzke said. “We have potatoes, we have onions, We have milk, we have juice, really good apples."

The next food distribution will be in June and if you are in need, they will be sending fliers to all the local agencies.

According to its website, Thrivent is a non-profit organization that offers members a “broad range of financial products and services.” Second Harvest is the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the U.S.
