Idaho State Police say slick roads and icy conditions were a factor in crash Monday morning that claimed the life of an 18-year-old man from Craigmont.

Idaho State Police said a 17-year-old male was headed west when he lost control of his car, creating a head-on collision with a car driven by the 18-year-old who was headed east. ISP said road conditions were icy and slick.
The 18-year-old, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, was declared dead at the scene. The 17-year-old was taken to St Mary's Hospital in Cottonwood.
There were 2 male passengers, age 11 and 9, in the vehicle driven by the 17-year-old. The 11-year-old was taken to St Mary's Hospital and the 9-year-old was taken to St Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. Both were wearing seat belts, as was the driver.
Airbags deployed in both vehicles.
ISP said the 18-year-old was not wearing a seat belt.
The investigation is continuing.
