Mother, daughter possibly spotted in New Mexico

Catelyn Sandoval

NAMPA, Idaho - Police say Wednesday morning that the mother suspected of kidnapping her 2-year-old Nampa, Idaho daughter has been spotted in Farmington, New Mexico.

Police issued the Amber Alert Tuesday for Catelyn Sandoval. Officials say it was issued after the mother, Gerogina Sandoval, came from out of state and took the child in the middle of the night. Police say the mother has made suicidal threats to the father and is a known drug user.

Nampa Police said they've received reports that the mother and daughter have been spotted in New Mexico with an unknown white male in a silver Chevy Cobalt. Because the child and mother are not believed to be in Idaho or Nevada, the Amber Alert has been canceled.

An Amber Alert has been issued for New Mexico.

Gerogina is described as Native American with dark black hair, and brown eyes and weighing about 170 pounds. Her hair is cut in a short bob-style cut.

Catelyn is a Native American female with brown hair and brown eyes, 3-feet tall and 35 pounds. Catelyn has a bump on her forehead. She has a light complexion and is possibly wearing a green sundress.
