Tyler's competitive streak pushes him on the golf course and in life
CLARKSTON, WA - Clarkston High Senior Tyler Carlson said his competitive side never lets him fall short of doing his best.

"I'm a very competitive person, you can ask anyone that knows me," said Tyler.

Tyler will play golf at Oregon State University in the Fall and plans to earn a business or education degree.

"Hopefully that is a stepping stone and will help elevate my game to play, hopefully, on the professional tour," said Tyler.

Tyler isn't just an all star on the golf course, but he's an outstanding scholar as well.

"It's all about preparation," said Tyler. "So, if you don't prepare well for a test, then you're not going to do well on that test. It's the same thing, if you don't prepare for a tournament, you're not going to play well."

Tyler has been a member of the National Honors Society and a scholar athlete for the past four years.

"I feel like golf is a lot like life, you just have to put in the time," said Tyler. "I set very high goals for myself and I want to achieve those, because then I feel like I did something."
