OROFINO, ID - KLEW cares about you and that's why each week during the school year, we team up with Lewiston Orthopaedic Associates to highlight an outstanding local high school student.

Reporter Sophia Miraglio introduces you to Orofino High School Senior Kyla Cobbs.

Kyla Cobbs has a 3.9 GPA, plays two sports, and is active in several school clubs. These are just some of the many reasons why this Orofino High Maniac is this week's "Academic All-Star."

"I stay organized and get as much work done as I can," said Cobbs.

Which isn't easy for anyone when you have a full schedule.

"I'm in volleyball and softball and then I'm also in Key-Club and National Honors Society and Youth Leg. and Leadership," said Cobbs.

Kyla's favorite class is calculus, however she plans on going a different route after high school.

"I'm hoping to go to Washington State University and I haven't decided, I'll either be a English professor or a book editor," said Cobbs.

Which if you know her makes perfect sense.

"Well, I love to read," said Cobbs. "I love to read it's like my favorite thing. Id love to do that everyday and get paid for it."

And while Kyla is looking forward to her future she said she'll miss her past.

"The whole thing, all my friends and this town," said Cobbs.

Congratulations Kyla, you're this week's "Academic All-Star."
