Potlatch High School Senior, Casey Grant.
POTLATCH, ID - KLEW cares about you and that's why each week during the school year, we team up with Lewiston Orthopaedic Associates to highlight an outstanding local high school student.

Casey Grant is a senior at Potlatch High School.

"I enjoy chemistry and math," said Grant. "Those are my two favorites. Mainly because they make the most sense to me, I guess.

Casey is finishing off his high school career with a near perfect GPA. Plus, he's already earning credits towards his college degree.

"I plan to go to the U of I for engineering," said Grant.

Over the last four years Casey has participated in Business Professionals of America, Idaho Drug Free Youth, football, basketball, wrestling and track.

"Just get to hang out with all your friends, have a good time, be competitive," said Grand. "I typically am a very competitive person."

Casey said that competitive nature helped him stay focused and succeed in high school, along with motivation from his parents.

"Sometimes, you just make time," said Grant. "You just take time out of your schedule you would reserve for hanging out with your friends or other stuff, and you just reserve that for the extracurricular's you want to do."

Congratulations Casey, you're this week's "Academic All-Star."
