LEWISTON, ID - KLEW cares about you and that's why each week during the school year, we team up with Lewiston Orthopaedic Associates to highlight an outstanding local high school student.

Reporter Sophia Miraglio introduces you to Lewiston High School Senior, Alex Boatman.

This Lewiston High School Bengal is part of the award winning student newspaper, has an outstanding GPA, and is doing big things in football. His name is Alex Boatman, Senior at Lewiston High School, and this week's "Academic All-Star."

"It's a juggling act," said Boatman. "Practice ends at six you go home do homework for three hours and that's your evening, that's what you do for the school year. "

And its that dedication to sports and studies that will serve him well next year at the University of Idaho.

"Major in business, minor in teaching probably or communications," said Boatman.

An easy choice for the student athlete that will be suiting as a long snapper for the university's football team.

"That's where my family has gone," said Boatman. "All my dads side. My cousins have gone there my aunts and uncles have gone there. My dad graduated from there"

Congratulations Alex for all you've achieved and will achieve and for being this week's "Academic All-Star."
