LEWISTON, ID - Senior Austin Hurd is the only Advanced Placement Scholar with honor at Lewiston High School.

He's also the Valedictorian and a member of the National Honors Society.

"I want to work efficiently in the work place at a higher level and be able to do what I want to do," said Austin. "And for me, to be able to do what I want to do, I have to have that firm foundation in education."

Austin enjoys learning about physics and calculus. He says the concept of magnetism is fascinating for him.

"When I look at the subject of magnetism, it's a mysterious topic that I just want to learn more about," said Austin.

Austin plans to attend Boise State University in the fall to study electrical engineering and computer science. He says a high school education is the key to success.

"It helps you prep for college and what you'll be doing for the rest of your life," said Austin. "So that you'll be able to operate efficiently in the workplace."
