Justine Brume uses her competitive streak to excel
CLARKSTON - A senior at Clarkston High School, a soccer enthusiast and the proud owner of a 3.5 GPA, her name is Justine Brume and she's this week's Academic All-Star.

"I'm very competitive,” said Brume. “So everything I do I try to be the best in."

And it's the competitive streak in this fierce teen that keeps her involved in ASB, National Honor Society and Link Crew. That's on top of her rigorous schedule.

"I'm one of those kids where I get really scared if I don't have my homework done and so that's just motivation alone that I don't want to get in trouble," said Brume.

Some days her demanding schedule can wear on her.

"You know I have occasional breakdowns but I get through it," said Brume.

But her goal of attending Brigham Young University next fall keeps her going.

"It's been a dream since I was little to go there,” said Brume. “And I really want to be in the medical field. I just love taking care of people and trying to make a difference.")

Congratulations Justine. You're this week's Academic All-Star.
