McGurkin makes time to gives back

Moscow High Senior Dan McGurkin.

MOSCOW, ID - For Moscow High Senior Dan McGurkin, time management is a juggling act.

"You have to sit down sometimes and figure out what's most important and what needs to be done," said McGurkin. "But so far it's worked out pretty well."

Not only does Dan maintain a 4.0 GPA, but he also plays Varsity Football and Basketball, and finds time to volunteer at the Hope Center.

"I kind of like the sense of giving back a little bit," said McGurkin. "I don't have a lot of time to volunteer there, but when I get a chance, it's nice to see the people that work there. I'm pretty good friends with everyone there."

"After high school Dan plans to attend the University of Washington and major in aeronautic engineering, hopefully through a Marine ROTC scholarship.

"Since I was five-years-old, it's always been pulling me that way," said McGurkin. "I have family in the Marine Corps. Something about it is just different then the other armed services so I've always been leaning towards this."
