Bantam Plans to be a Duck
CLARKSTON, WA - Shawn Smith is a Junior at CHS and a model student at that. His GPA's never faltered from a perfect 4.0 and so far this year, he also has perfect attendance.

"I don't like to miss school because if you miss too much it's hard to get caught up," said Smith.

Shawn's schedule's filled with Spanish II, Chemistry and Shawn's favorite, Algebra II. He said being so driven is the only way to live his life.

"I just want to have a good career, be successful in life," said Smith. "Just for myself, I just want to push myself and do the best I can."

Born and raised a Bantam, Shawn's education is for the birds. He hopes to become a Duck over at the University of Oregon and study to be a Private Investigator.

"I've always been fascinated by that stuff," said Smith. "My dad's a police officer and I've just been fascinated by Criminal Justice and law and stuff."

And he'll be more than ready for the challenges of college. He spends up to three hours a night on homework. Dedication that's landed him spots in the National Honor Society and Renaissance.
