Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is pleased to announce its 8th annual Children’s Summer Creativity Series for kids ages 6 to 12 beginning July 17. For six consecutive Thursday afternoons between 1:00 and 3:45, practicing artists will lead the children in two different creative projects with a healthy snack in between sessions. Dates and topics are listed below. The cost is $15 per child per afternoon, with registrations required by 6 pm the Sunday preceding each class. We are not able to accommodate walk-ins the day of the class.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a non-profit creativity center in Uniontown which opened in 2006. It is in the big white barn behind the famous iron wheel fence on highway 195. The three story facility is fully handicap accessible and has no daily admission fee. Information: www.artisanbarn.org or 509-229-3414.

July 17: Painting on glass & beading

July 24: Scratchboard & painting on an apron or a bag

July 31: Weave a wall hanging & paint nature themes on rocks

August 7: Make a mask of yourself & string art

Aug 14: Tie dye & make maracas from dried gourds. Children must bring a 100% cotton item that has been pre-washed to tie dye.

August 21: Make accordion books & second topic to be announced.
