Griffin Theatre Company presents "Letters Home"

This is a daily event, running from November 15, 2013 through November 16, 2013. 7:30 PM Jones Theatre at Daggy Hall (1060 E. College Ave.), Washington State University, Pullman, WA 509-335-8522 Website
"Letters Home" puts the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq front and center by bringing to life actual letters written by soldiers serving in the Middle East.

Inspired by the New York Times op-ed article "The Things They Wrote" and the subsequent HBO documentary "Last Letters Home," the production uses minimal set pieces to dramatize the letters, instead projecting images and video from the actual soldiers behind the actors as they perform the letters as dramatic monologues.

These letters were written under the most difficult of circumstances—the disorientation of training, deployment, separation from family and loved ones, and combat and occupation duties in Afghanistan and Iraq—but one theme seems to unite their diverse voices, the belief that the person standing beside you is more important than you are.

Each performance will feature a post-play discussion.
