Location: Kendrick Senior Center, Kendrick, ID
In Celebration of Arbor Day, the K/J Arts Committee is teaming with the Urban Forestry Board and the Hill & Valley Garden Club to have a fundraiser on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Kendrick Senior Center. Come and enjoy homemade cinnamon rolls and some coffee, and make bids on Silent Auction items made of “Tree Art.” There will be a drawing for several small trees and other plants during the 9 – 10:30am breakfast. At 10:30am there will be a play put on by the Cub Scout troupe telling the story of how trees benefit our lives. There will be several award ceremonies after this: The Cub Scouts will present a check to the Food Bank for pennies they collected, and cash awards will be given to two artists at the elementary school who won the Smokey Bear/ Woodsy Owl posters contest. At 11:00am a Mountain Ash tree will be planted by the entrance to the Kendrick trail. The Kendrick Urban Forestry Board will receive a special award of a Tree City USA banner presented by a representative from the IDL. There will also be some “trail cleaning” projects too. Join us for more treats and coffee afterward.
