November 10 9:00 AM Nez Perce County Fair Pavilion on Burrell Avenue in Lewiston
Local and regional community organizations and individuals are gearing up to present the first annual Lewis-Clark Valley Preparedness Fair on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Nez Perce County Fair Pavilion on Burrell Avenue.
The event is free and open to the public. The family-friendly fair will include over 50 displays, demonstrations, and booths featuring information to help individuals and families prepare themselves in the event of an emergency, natural disaster, or other type of emergency.
The community is invited to come learn how to create an emergency food supply, dehydrate food, talk on an amateur radio (HAM) network, improve their personal finances, and other ways they can get themselves and their families prepared for an emergency.
Those who attend will also learn about the plans community organizations like Emergency Management and Disaster Services have in place to help during emergencies. There will also be information on emergency preparedness for pets, and how every day fitness and well being is a part of being prepared.
The list of participating organizations includes, but is not limited to: Lewiston and Clarkston Police and Fire Departments, Life Flight, Idaho Public Health, the LC-Valley Animal shelter, University of Idaho extension, Disability Action Center, Nez Perce County Emergency Management, American Red Cross, Idaho Food Bank, and more.
