On Saturday, September 29, resident artisan Katherine Clancy will lead a workshop at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown on painting with wax and pigments, a process called encaustics which has been used for more than 2000 years. The workshop is for students aged 16 and older, and no previous experience is necessary. The class will give participants an opportunity to try the many and varied methods of creating an encaustic painting. Students should bring a craft heat gun if they have one, plus any objects they may wish to collage in the painting. The instructor will provide all the other materials. The session is being held from 10:30 to 3:30 and the cost is $50. Advance registrations must be received no later than September 27. Registrations may be made online by using the form at the top of the calendar page or by calling 509-229-3414.
