News Director
Nate rejoined the team at KLEW as News Director in August of 2011. He first served the LC Valley/Moscow-Pullman area at KLEW as a News Anchor/Reporter from 2005 to 2007. After that Nate moved down south to Boise where he worked at KTRV in many roles, serving as a morning Weather Forecaster/News Anchor/Executive Producer/Sports Director and reported as well. He has earned an Emmy Nomination as well as an award by the Idaho State Broadcasters Association for Best Sports. Nate has been recognized for Weather and Sports achievements from the Idaho Press Club and was singled out as the Outstanding TV Reporter of the Year by the “Animo!” awards. He has also earned distinctions for his work in the field of radio as well.
Nate began his media career as a disc jockey at the age of 15 at a high school radio station in Bellevue, Wash. That early beginning has taken him all over the Western U.S. and has been everything from a Top 40 DJ, as many from the Palouse know him better as “Nate Dogg,” to hosting an afternoon Sports Talk radio show in Boise.
Nate is a graduate of Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. While he was there, he served as the Student Body Vice President (ASWSU) and received an award from the President for leadership. He is also still an active member of the Delta Upsilon International Fraternity and works in an advisory role, having served the Northwest region as an alumnus volunteer.
Nate is a newshound first and foremost, but his love of sports is a passion as well and is the Editor-in-Chief of a popular football website. When he is not chasing down leads in the news world, he is covering the news of the day from the NFL and College Football ranks. He has covered multiple bowl games including the Humanitarian Bowl as well as the Fiesta Bowl. And don’t even get him started on Fantasy Football.
Nate is an avid fan of his beloved Washington State Cougars, Idaho Vandals, Boise State Broncos (don’t hate him too hard Vandals) and the Seattle Seahawks. He spent his early years growing up in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas, but moved to Issaquah, Wash., in his teens and was quick to adopt the Northwest teams as his own.
Nate couldn’t be happier to be back in the Valley working with the news staff on the stories that matter most to you. Nate and his girlfriend Heather take in the local attractions with their Toy Poodle Opie.
